Innovative Hydrogen-Powered Radio-Controlled Car Leads Green Toy Revolution
Wah Shing Toys Co., Ltd. (Wah Shing), one of the world's largest toy manufacturers, today announced that its H2Go hydrogen-powered RC car has won the Toy Innovation 2008 Award in the Electronics and Technology category at this year's International Toy Fair in Nuremburg.
The H2Go car, manufactured by Wah Shing, uses technology invented by Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies ("Horizon") the leading producer of consumer-oriented fuel cell technology and is being marketed by the renowned Corgi International.
Richard Ellert, Managing Director of Wah Shing, commented, "This major international toy award is a tremendous validation of Wah Shing's vision in developing green technology and environmentally friendly toys and reinforces the partnership we announced in July 2007 with Horizon.
Wah Shing, as one of the world's leading toy manufacturers, is committed to being at the forefront of 'green toy' technology, and this award reinforces our vision and confidence in further development of technology and processes in the area of eco-friendly high tech toys. We are excited to significantly contribute to the reduction of the toy industry's carbon footprint.
"Together with Horizon we are pioneering the design and mass-production of environmentally friendly, fuel cell-powered toys and reusable energy storage devices.
The H2Go hydrogen-powered RC car not only educates children and adults about alternative energy, it is also an important 'proof of concept' for demonstrating the practical application of this visionary technology, which is a significant first step in a larger issue -- solving some of the most difficult global energy and environmental problems."
H2Go, a high tech next-generation toy car designed by Luigi Colani, who also designed cars for Ferrari and VW, integrates a number of new technologies with a unique electronic power management system that mimics real hybrid cars.
Wah Shing and Horizon continue to work together to develop new fuel cell-powered products for major international toy companies. The agreement leverages Wah Shing's global operations and track record of industry leadership and innovation to bring fuel cell-powered consumer products to millions of individuals around the world.
